- [International Collaboration] Boulevard Heights, Dubai

Expanding on its approach of collaborative architecture across the globe, Co-Arc has started 2015 by entering a collaboration agreement with Perkins Will Architects' Dubai office. In this venture Co-Arc assisted with the design development and documentation of a design for a fifty storey, twin-tower apartment block development in Dubai by Perkins Will as the architects of record.
Following a successful transition of our in-house production to Revit-based parametric modelling during the past years, Co-Arc has demonstrated its capacities by completing full building information modelling within a tight five-week production period, followed by inter-disciplinary coordination and scheduling of supplementary information in a second production phase.
Co-Arc modelled the Perkins Will design in Revit software up to design development reporting stage, meeting the delivery timeframes without delay. This was achieved by a dedicated team of young professionals who burned the midnight oil and coordinated their work online through data sharing, e-mail and conference calls between Johannesburg and Dubai, supplemented by Patrick McInerney's two-week hands-on coordination session at the Perkins Will office in Dubai.
Construction of Boulevard Heights is expected to start later in the year.

- [Project go-ahead] The Leonardo at 75 on Maude

Following a successful marketing launch, the Seventy Five on Maude development company has confirmed the go-ahead for the Leonardo mixed-use tower development in Sandton, and Co-Arc signed an appointment contract in June 2015. With an increased height of forty-two floors, and potential extension to fifty floors, this will be the tallest tower in Sandton, and possibly all of Africa. Phase one construction, which entails the basement and podium levels is due to start in the second half of the year, to be followed by the main superstructure during 2016.
